Temple Bar Square
Temple Bar, Dublin, 2015

A proposed redesign of Temple Bar Square Dublin commissioned by the Temple Bar Company seen as a pilot scheme for the public realm in Temple Bar.

The design intention is to make the space universally accessible by removing the podium, steps and the cobbled areas and repaving the entire space with a single plane of Dublin granite, tilted to match the profile of the existing granite footpaths which would be retained. Two new features which would be introduced; two almost continuous back to back benches and a stand of closely spaced hornbeam trees planted in a zigzag pattern, pleached to form an aerial hedge.
